Are you ready to learn everything about all things chin fillers? We will make sure you’re well informed. We think it is important that people are more honest about their treatments, in that as long as you’re going to someone who is a doctor and is qualified then there’s nothing wrong with getting cosmetic treatments. One employee from GLAMOUR’s publication says “There is an economy of shame. We are meant to look perfect but not DO anything. I’ve had lip filler and I believe it doesn’t always have to be about self-esteem, it’s like experimenting and can be fun as long as it’s done safely. Right now, we are living in a booming culture of cosmetic surgery but it’s just important to stay grounded and do it safely.”

Some patients have what is unfortunately known as a ‘weak chin’, facial features can’t be altered by any form of strength training, so one option is by using dermal filler to proportion the face accordingly. If the chin is small and not in proportion with other facial features it can make the face appear imbalanced which can lead patients to dislike their side profile. Here at SKIN CLUB Cosmetic Doctors we have administered numerous chin fillers in our Melbourne clinic in order to give the desired aesthetic our patients are after.

Although fillers are originally used to fill lines, due to new techniques, doctors can now sculpt the face and enhance features like never before. Up until a few years ago the only option to alter a chin was with an invasive chin implant. At SKIN CLUB Cosmetic Doctors we strictly steer away from the plastic pillow face look and keep it enhancing our patients natural features to ensure the new chin to be undetectable to others while noticeably better for our patients.

A mere scroll through instagram’s cosmetic injector hashtag to notice hundreds of beauty salons offering fillers and Botox at low prices, often from practitioners with no medical background.

You might ask, what’s the worst that can happen?

In the wrong hands there is a much higher risk of infection, scarring and tissue damage which can lead to blindness. The number one rule before having any aesthetic injection is finding a medically trained reputable doctor. You will be showing your trusted doctor your aesthetic insecurities and feel assured that your doctor shares your vision and values. Be sure to ask questions every step of the way before going ahead with any treatment.

What Are Fillers? Specifically Chin Fillers?

Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid and while abundantly found in skincare and touted as a savior for dehydrated skin, it is also naturally produced in our bodies. A common filler used for chin filling is Restalyne. The first step is applying a numbing cream which allows our cannular entry technique to feel like nothing more than a strange pressure as the filler is being injected. After every tiny adjustment, the doctor stepped back and evaluated the changes on my face before continuing.

The amount of filler you need is dependent on the area

The amount of filler needed takes into consideration the starting point and the desired effect, but it is always better to be conservative, like face make-up it’s always easier to add rather than take away, so after the injection is completed the patient can see a longstanding effect to instantly diminish any insecurities.

You’ll need top-ups

The filler is meant to last 9–12 months, which is the time it takes for your body to metabolise it, at SKIN CLUB Cosmetic Doctors we recommend coming in straight away if you’ve had an adverse reaction, as it could be a sign of vascular occlusion caused by injecting a blood vessel.

Downtime/Aftercare

We advised not to touch or apply too much pressure during the healing process to allow the swelling to go down and not to displace the filler. Some mild bruising by day two may occur, but usually subsides after three or four days.
